Pin Prick Continent Map

When we began the continent study of Asia this is THE work Pearl requested be available.  You might recall reading here  that we had to replace our original Asia puzzle map with a traditional Montessori one.  Because although the description stated the pieces were in the shape of the countries, they weren't-not enough for this project.
Pearl made a pin prick map of Asia.  While in primary Montessori she had made one for South America.

Materials needed are a cork board for pricking on top of, a large pin (we used a seam ripper) for pricking, construction paper in the colors of each country and the puzzle map.
Take a piece of construction paper, place it on top of cork board and place the country on top.  Trace around each piece with the pin, poking small, close together holes that then can be taken out in the counties shape.  Once all the pieces are made the country is reconstructed on poster board.  (we chose to do it on a bulletin board)

  1. Is there a free resource to get the continent templates?
